ok, what is up with these talking banner ads. THey are becoming really annoying. Every time you mouse over them it starts to talk.



"Hi, my name is Tina in the next 30 seconds I will show you how you can dramatically speed up your computer."



Can these ads be filtered out from the site?, they are so annoying!

    There are several solutions:



    For Safari, use PithHelmet.

    For OmniWeb, use the built-in privacy/ad filter.

    For Firefox, use the Adblock extension.



    Or, you can edit your /etc/hosts file to completely block the offending domain from your computer.



    Note: on Mac OS X 10.3, after editing the hosts file, you have to do a couple other things. In Directory Access, under Authentication you must add the path /BSD/local and apply the changes. Then, each time you make changes to the hosts file, flush your DNS cache with the terminal command "lookupd -flushcache".



    I personally endorse all of these methods. The hosts file is by far the most effective, but it blocks out entire domains.

    SEND E-MAIL TO KASPER@APPLEINSIDER.COM WITH ANY COMPLAINS/THREATS/HATE MAIL



    Kasper is to be held entirely at fault for you and everyone else having to put up with this kind of crap.

    adding z1.adserver\\.com and adserver\\.com to the blocked list in Pith Helmet seems to do it for me.



    Not that I saw Tina anywhere, but the "lag" of loading is a LOT faster now

    i have never gotten any ad banners on AI, even before i installed pithhelmet...

    i'm in safari, with pop-ups blocked.
