Wow.... These new PBs are really some powerhouses! But how can the 15SD and 17 be only 100 MHz away from the lowend G5? I hate to make assumptions like this: but with this piece of evidence and the fact that the low-end mac has a better optical drive than the high-end...I believe that G5 Updates are around the corner.

Gotta be hot! My 1.25 gets pretty darn hot, let alone another 250Mhz. Other then that, I'm jealous

So it looks like next Christmas or MWSF in Jan. we'll see 'G5' PBs -- if even that early. This update is pretty hefty, and even the old 'books are still selling really well.

There's a big difference between a G4 and G5 proc. (Speed, heat, power, etc)

It's way way more than Mhz.

More to the point, there's a huge difference between a laptop motherboard and hard drive and a desktop motherboard and hard drive. At least, there is now.

This is all current hardware now, so see the threads in that forum for further discussion.

    Thanks.
