Hey, I have several .AVI files (old MST3ks episodes) that I got from my cousin's CD-ROM collection. After copying these files onto my computer, it seems that I am unable to label them! I've checked permissions and it says that I am the owner of these files...yet I cannot label them. Any suggestions?

Maybe the files are write-protected? Select one of the files and press Apple-I. In the upper section of the information window there should be a checkbox that's labled "locked" or "protected" or something (I've got my OS X running in german, don't know which term is used in the english version). If that one's checked you cannot label a file.
