BTO vs Stock PowerBook?

I am interested in ordering a new PowerBook but I am not sure if I should buy a stock PowerBook or build one to order? How much of a performance gain am I going to get by adding the 128 MB graphic memory and upgrading to a 5400 HD? My dilemma is that I live in Washington and can go to Oregon to buy a stock PowerBook and not get charged sales tax. If I do a BTO I get socked with WA State sales tax. I do some video editing and web design work. Any ideas?

The performance gain would be pretty negligible.

For video editing, you'd be much better off putting the $$ into a 7200 RPM external FireWire 800 drive. LaCie has nice stuff....

What about the additional of the 128 MB Graphics Memory? What kind of gains can I expect from that?

Much better resale value. It's also so cheap that I'd have a hard time not doing it. Just my opinion.

The 128MB of graphics memory is more for hard-core gamers (but gamers should use a G5 Tower) and 3D application users. For video editting and web work, I doubt you'd notice the difference between 64mb and 128MB of graphics memory.
