8x Superdrives = New Powermacs?

On the UK Apple Store,

http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore

under the heading "New to the Store" Apple are selling 8x DVD-R disks which are advertised as "Apple 8x DVD-R media is certified* for use in Apple 8x SuperDrive and with 4x, 2x, or 1x SuperDrive equipped systems". Even the top of the line Powermac G5 only has a 4x Superdrive - since new superdrives are often synonymous with new Powermacs, is this indication of something in the works on the high end?

Sorry guys, the answer here isn't "WWDC" but simply "eMac". The top-of-the-line eMac already has a 8x SuperDrive

Marathon's the name 't was a pretty popular first person shooter on the Mac in the Mid-90's. My nickname, "Durandal", was the name of an A.I. (that's "Artificial Intelligence" and not "Apple Insider" ) in that game. Same goes for "Leela" and "Tycho". The S'pht and the Pfhor were some alien races and Lh'owon the home world of the Pfhor.

To make it short: I was just replying to Performa636CD's hint that he was a Marathon player, too.

Anyway, I guess this thread has gotten a bit off topic...

Was it EVER on topic... or at least relevant to anything?

The answer is eMac. Now if AAPL would just get their crap together and make the high-end machine match the lowest machine in DVD burning.

I just ordered 2 20" cinema Dislay = new displays!

It's for a company I am leaving in 2 weeks, so I had to get them ordered before I leave.
