Hi everyone!

I have a 12' powerbook w/superdrive, 256ram, 1 ghz, etc... just wanted to give you guys an idea of what I'm working with here...

So, my problem started a few days ago: sometimes, all of a sudden, my airport wireless network would stop (lose connection and can't detect the wireless network at home anymore) and the sound would stop. And I mean stop. I get this error message about the midi being deactivated when i turn on garageband. I have to restart the laptop just for it to happen again after it runs for about 15 minutes.

I don't know what to do with it, as I'm a recent switcher, and am relatively new to the mac as a primary machine. So, to anyone who has an idea what's going on: PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks in advance!!

shot in the dark: things in OS X are much better with a decent amount of RAM

256MB is unfortuately too little, IMHO

That sure doesn't sound like a RAM problem ...

yes, more ram will make things run smoother/faster... but they should run anyway with 256 maybe just slowly, and real-time effects could be choppy.

Make sure that airport is 3.4.1. 3.4 caused loss of signal for me. 3.4.1 put all that right. Just use software update to make sure. I don't use garageband so cann't help you there.
