iTunes - Play Just This One
Something that's bugged me about iTunes for a long time now is that there is no way to play just a single song to the end and have it stop. You'd think that maybe option-double-click would do it, or maybe have it another setting of the repeat/repeat 1 thing, but there does not seem to be any way of doing it. I even found an Applescript that does that, but it's annoying to have to do it that way.
Anybody else think this would be a good feature?

Correct! The important thing about iTunes to remember is that any songs listed in the blue and white striped area will play through once (if there are no repeats set).
So the results list of anything you search for is a Playlist also. Just a dynamic one.
If I type "black" I get:
Blackened
Back In Black
Black Metal
Black Funeral
Fade To Black
Blackheart
Spirit In Black
Which is a dynamic playlist that will play through once and once only.
Typing the full name is rarely required to nail one song.
But yes, there should be some option to only play one song no matter where it is, if only in the contextual menu. "Play This Song Once" would be nice.
Search or playlists shouldn't be necessary.

OR just keep all of your songs unchecked.... if you are playing an unchecked song it will not go on to the next one...
Ooooh, that messes with iTunes something fierce, though. I'd use this as a last resort, If I were you.
What I do is use a playlist I made called "Misc." I usually keep it empty, and whenever I want to listen to one or a couple songs only, I drag them in there and it's alllll gooooood.
Would the Party Shuffle have any ability to play individual songs? I don't think it would, but....
