Why can´t I burn DVDs 4X speed (new UJ-825 DVD R)?

Hello Experts,

here is the deal:

I bought the new Matsushita UJ-825 4x DVD R slot in burner and installed

it in my CUBE.Everything is recognized and works well exept the burning speed.

Toast(and finder burning) doesn´t allow me more than 2xDVD(should be 4x)and 16x CD(should be 24X)burning.

That´s the same speed that I could achieve with the former UJ-815 superdrive.

Now,since both the new eMac with the 8xDVD R and the new Powerbooks

with the UJ-825 come with other, later Panther builds, could this be the

reason for my experiences?

Could it be a firmware issue of the drive(since this is a native PC version)?

Thanks for Your help!!

I don´t think its the media.

    I´m using 4xmedia(intenso DVD-R,1-4x).

Plus the Cds are also limited to 16X burningspeed instead of 24x(media proof for 52x burning).

Could it be that 10.3.4 shows native support at 4x for this drive?
