can't install hp laserjet 1012

i've been trying to install my hp laserjet 1012. i have a G5 with OSX.3 updated, downloaded the updated drivers but everytime i try to add a new printer, under the USB drop down menu, it will display the printer but on the right it says that the driver is not installed. anyone got any ideas?

    i ended up calling tech support and found out that the drivers for my officejet 7110 that's on the network was conflicting with it. so deleted the printers folder and got the laserjet to install then reinstalled the officejet 7110.



    this problem was also common in PC but didn't realize it would happen to a mac

    We had a similiar problem. 2 units on the network, G95 and a 4050 printer. When we added a USB printer it would not take. We ended up taking the machine off the network and then adding the driver. No problems after that. I think that it is just a Hp problem.
