Ibook G4 Question

in Current Mac Hardware edited January 2014
I bought a new Ibook G4 for my mom and after installing the ram upgrade and airport extreme card I checked that the new ram was being recognized. To my suprise the it reported that the processor was running at 1.17 ghz. Anyone else notice this "problem"? She is a computer newbie but she has already sent me an email and is surfing the web.

BTW It's my first mac purchase since the LC I got in college and I was impressed with the entire package. I'm thinking about picking up a powerbook in the near future.

Normally the clock on the new ones is 1.07ghz because of the bus 133mhz x the multiplier 8x so 1.064 (rounded to 1.07ghz). Maybe you miss read the number a little, or you got another 8%ish for free
