PowerBook with insomnia?
Every now and then, my 12" DVI PowerBook hangs whenever I put it to sleep. Sometimes, it does go to sleep, but only five minutes after I choose Sleep from the Apple menu. The screen would go black, but the sleep light won't come on. I have noticed it has been happening a little more frequently lately, and today, while trying to wake it up, I encountered a kernel panic. I zapped the PRAM, and reset the power manager, but it didn't do anything. Does this happen with your PowerBook sometimes? Could it be a sign something is wrong?

I just purchased a new 12" PB (like 4 hrs ago). When I was installing Keynote, I walked away and when I returned, the screen was black. I thought the unit went to sleep. Okay let's wake it back up. Nothing. Tried to hard reboot the PB. Nothing. All other attempts. Nothing. My brand new PB is dead (with my copy of Keynote still in the combo drive).
Yes. I believe you have a valid concern with your PB. Get it checked out.
