iBook G4 (April 2004) to TV?
I have an older iBook G3 (Dual USB, May 2001). To connect it to TV, I use an "Apple AV-Cable".
Now I plan to buy a new iBook (the one Apple introduced last month). What do I need to connect it to TV? From Apple's website, it seems to me that it is no longer the "Apple AV-Cable", but the "Apple Video Adapter".
Related question: does the new iBook have "an external reset button"? Funnily enough, this seems to be the requirement for using the "Apple Video Adapter" with an iBook.
Thanks for any advice.

Check out this page to see which models have an external reset button. Basically, everything up to, but not including, the 16MB VRAM iceBooks has an external reset button, and so uses the old adaptor. Your machine appears to be the last generation to use the old adaptor. Starting with the 16MB VRAM models, all more recent iBooks lack an external reset and use the new Video Adaptor.
"External reset button" just seems to be a convenient, visible landmark for dividing iBook generations into two groups - older and newer.
Panther finally introduced solid support for the AV cable. Previously I had to log out and log in again to get the AV to work, now in Panther it detects instantly on plug and unplug.

The headphone AV jack is very cool. Its a super streamlined cable from iBook to TV, no clucky adapters needs ( sure, it doesnt do svideo ). I wish that they had maintained the ability to use the AV cable, as well as the svideo adapter.

I can't believe Apple has regressed on this one! The AV-cable was very sleek indeed!
Oh well, I'll just have to get that "Apple Video Adapter".
Thanks for all advice.
