Any way to add Trash to the Finder sidebar?

The Finder sidebar in 10.3 would seem to be a natural place to find a Trash can, in addition to the one at the end of the Dock. Can I place the Trash here?

From what I understand, you can create a shortcut to the trash and put that in the sidebar. I would give that a shot if I were you.

In the finder press cmd-shift-g and enter .Trash.

Then a window should open named .Trash. Drag the icon from the title bar to the side bar and you're set.

    .Trash doesn't exist...

    however

    /Trash does

But I haven't tested it to see if it's the same thing.

probably you meant "command f" and than typing ".trash". THAT way it works The finder finds the .trash file in your home directory, IF you've checked "search unvisible files" before.

Wow...this is a new one on me, "unvisible" is now a word

I wasn't aware there was a way to search for invisible files. Care to share? Cause I can't find it.

single click on the trash icon in the dock... in the resulting finder window make sure nothing is selected and get info on the folder (cmd-i)... you will see the trash icon in the top left of the window... click once on it and copy it (cmd-c) now go to the sidebar and click once on your new ,trash folder... get info on it in a similar fashion and now past the icon...

this will work until the icon of the trash changes from full to empty or vice versa, but its not that hard to reproduce...

you can do it for either the full or empty trash icon...

Sure, "command f" >> type in ".trash >> mark/search for "unvisibe items" and there you are

yeah And there it is quite possible to browse through a whole new unvisible world. Try it

EDIT: a sh**, sorry, paul, for dumb repetition
