My history currently shows back to April 11 but I have no idea how or why. Sorry. It's just always been like that. Can't see how to change it in either Safari or System prefs.

I wonder if its count-based? 300 pages, for instance? If you don't surf a lot, you could go back a good ways, or if you're like me you MIGHT be able to find a place you were at this morning.

    got 7 days here.

if you've enable the Safari debug menu (check versiontracker),

there is an additional "Cache Window" with more info and buttons to clear core, javascript garbage collect, etc,

but now that I poke around, I can't find any place to specify history or cache size

maybe it was an option in an earlier safari build? or the old Network tab from System Prefs?

    OK this from Help:

As you open webpages, Safari records their locations. Safari remembers about a week's worth of webpages you have opened.

"About a week's worth..." ? Not very specific.

So that seems to fit what most people are getting but does nothing to explain why burningwheel has only 3 days worth and I've got over a month.

    Very odd.

I've found that if I leave my computer on overnight (so the daily cron jobs get run), I'll not have more than a day's worth. When I didn't do that, I'd often have over a week's worth. I think think it's cleared out nightly with other cron job duties.

edit: I checked my history and I had a day and half worth of stuff in it. I ran a my daily cron job and restarted Safari and I had only today's stuff in it.

Yep that takes care of me. What's a cron job? (Don't answer that, I'm being facetious). Guess I better go think about running some. Thanks.

How's that thinking going? It's hard work, isn't it?

    hee hee hee.

I know, slack aren't I? I really do not deserve to have 2 such well behaved computers (touch wood).

That's one of the things I love about Macs; they're so gosh darned understanding of one's little, er, shortcomings.
