Silicon Compatability

I have a big question. Are PC and Mac board hardware interoperable. I know you can use PC RAM (I think as long as pin count and Mhz are same), but what about PCI, AGP, and I/O Controllers? Does the chip need to be designed specifically for PowerPC and not x86 to work?

Thanks for any info in advance.

I'm going to move this to Current Hardware, since it's about existing designs.

Things like video cards can be made to work with either platform by flashing the card. As for the actual controllers, no they won't work.
