The Preakness

Anybody else here into horse racing?

I watched the derby with all my faith in Tapit, but now I think I've been caught up in the Smarty Jones enthusiasm.

I wonder if Lion Heart might catch Smarty Jones today, it'd be cool if they pulled out in front again.

I wonder why people are more into in the Derby than the Preakness. Personally I like that the Preakness only has 11 horses running.

Anybody have any thoughts or insights or stories?

ehhh, just a pale imitation of the Derby Infield. Everyone knows the Derby is the true jewel in the Triple Crown... But yes, if you can't do a Derby Infield some year, than a Preakness infield will do.

Excuse me while I don't hold my breath for Smarty Jones. Even if it wins the Preakness, the Belmont Stakes is where most horses fail.

Holy Smokes! That little horse can run... would be great if it can pull out the Belmont. Anyone get a look at Rock Hard Ten? What a beast... that is possibly the biggest race horse I've seen.

I worked on a project at Keeneland back in '95 or '96. We were backside, trackside, in the infield and ON the field. We also worked at a track over in Evansville. Beautiful animals, fantastic memories.

The race yesterday brought back a lot of neat memories!

I have been to the infield during Derby one time...

Of course, if you are local like me, you don't do Derby...the Oaks is the race!

I...told...you...so. It must be really hard to not want to lead the race coming out of the backstretch, but that turn really seems to zap the energy out of the lead horses.

    Maybe next year!
