can't uninstall WMP!! evil M$

After installing VLC I decided that I didn't need Windows Media Player anymore.... so I did what most would do to uninstall a program on a Mac... drag into the trash... When I tried to empty the trash can, it gives me all these "the file is locked" messages. I tried to unlock the file but it won't let me. M$ doesn't have uninstalling instructions on their support pages, nor does the installer have an uninstaller... they are truly evil!
