Does anyone have video of 1G iPod being introduced at MacWorld

I was thinking the other day...

"What was it like when Steve introduced the first iPod at MacWorld. What was everyone's reaction?"

Does anyone happen to have a video of the MacWorld broadcast.

I never saw it.

It wasn't introduced at a MacWorld. And no, I don't.

Oh it wasn't. I always thought that all new Apple products are introduced at MacWorld keynote speeches by Steve.

Was it just announced on Apple's website?

Yep, it just showed on apple.com in November 2000, IIRC. I have the page archived somewhere; if anyone is interested, let me know.

It was introduced at a press invitation-only Apple Event.

The invitation said that Apple would introduce "A Breakthrough Digital Device (Hint: It's Not a Mac)"

I have the original video of the event but it's 66.5MB.

It was introduced October 23, 2001, in a private press event, and started selling in early November. So there is no video.

A few days before the unveiling a magazine called "Hits" - a record industry publication said the device was called "iPod". They scooped the world on that!

That video isn't Steve actually introducing it though, that video was shown during the introduction.

I believe it was Wired magazine that broke the name iPod before hand.
