Oddity w/ New PowerBook G4 17" Keyboard

Unable to resist the allure of aluminum any longer, I bought the PowerBook 17" (512 Ram [so far], 1.5GHZ, 64 VRAM, 80 GB, 10.3.4), and I am delighted by my purchase overall. However I've noticed a problem with the keyboard. The "O" key on the keyboard responds to touch alone. I do not need to depress the key; I lay my finger against its surface, and I get an "O". Needless to say, this problem causes a great deal of difficulty typing, and it is especially troublesome to entering passwords (OK ... you guys got one letter of one now...).

Has anyone else experienced any such problem or heard of such difficulties? I'd appreciate any advise or insight into this issue. Applecare will repair it, of course, but I'd rather avoid losing the machine for those days.

Please help...

Since this is definitely a hardware issue and you PowerBook is under warranty, the best you can do is call AppleCare. They are said to be rather quick.

Actually, I don't see another way out.
