Power Mac G5 Panther on a Power Mac G4

I recently ordered and recieved a refurb'd PowerBook G4 (aluminum). It shipped with 10.2 and Apple includes the cd for updating to Panther. They accidentally send disks labeled Power Mac G5. They have since sent me the right cd. My question is can I give these cd's to someone with a Power Mac G4?? I know someone with a Power Mac G4 running 10.2 and if she can use these cd's then I'll give them to her.

Anyone know if this software is truly G5 dependent??

Thanks,

Ron

Actually I spoke to an Apple reseller who seems to be pretty knowledgable in these things. He says it wont work as these disks have processor dependant stuff on them. He said it would probably crash part way thru the install when it looks for a G5 and finds a G4. I don't think I'm willing to try it on some elses machine. Thanks for replying anyway.
