icon arrangement in desktop

icons are arranged by default on the right, am i right?

is it possible to specify a location, say for ext. harddrvies, to appear on the left whenever it's connected?



just a thought...

    Only by using Applescript, but you'd have to run the script yourself.



    But now that i think a bit more, you could attach the Applescript as a folder-action to the desktop folder.....
