17" iMac - how long until refurbs are available?

Apple usually has some good deals on refurbished machines... The refurbished 15"/800/Superdrive imac was something like $250 less than the "new" machine at the online Apple store when they were available. Now I see a lot of other online retailers selling refurbs at good prices.



My question is, generally speaking, how long after a product is announced will they make refurbished units available? I know it all just kinda depends... Think there will be 17" refurbs by Christmas?

    3-4 months. By Christmas.

    Keep an eye on <a href="http://www.smalldog.com."; target="_blank">www.smalldog.com.</a> They always seem to have the used and refurbed goods before anyone else.

    (FWIW, I think getting an iMac now is well worth the $250 or so you'd save by waiting for an indeterminate length of time, unless of course you don't need it now, in which case I'm just babbling uselessly. )

    True, I agree, but I don't really need it now... To be honest I don't really need one at all... but I sure do wantone! The new display has me drooling...
