I need to buy a laptop ASAP. I had a G4 800 PM that I just sold because I'm going to be travelling a lot. I can get great deals on PB through my university and I'm not sure which one to get. Money is an issue because I just quit my job. Here are the options and tell me what you guys think.

12" PB 1Ghz

100mhz bus

40 GB HD

32 MB Vid

no airport card

$1069

or

12" PB 1.33Ghz

167mhz bus

60 GB HD

64 MB Vid

Airport built-in

$1399

or

15" PB 1Ghz

167mhz bus

60 GB HD

no airport

$1499

What do you think?

I'd go for the 12" 1.33Ghz. Aiport alone makes it worth it. You get all of the performance of the 15" plus Airport and a MORE portable form factor for less $$$, plus, the 15" could suffer from the dreaded white spots that struck many of the 15"ers.

I've had a 12" 867Mhz for over a year and I love it. The ULTIMATE portable. Nice screen, small, but crisp and infinitely portable *(I can actually open it, and view a DVD on a plane without concern that the seat in front of me will break it). Airport I could not live without, easy to install after the fact, but it'll move the price of the 15" to $1599. So, you're talking about $200.

12" PROS: Portability, Price, Battery Life (by a small margin).

15" PROS: Large Screen, Card Expansion Slot, Keyboard Backlight

You didn't mention SuperDrive vs. Combo, so I assume they're all combo. The only thing I miss (stupid me) in my 12" is the Superdrive, I have to transfer movies to my Dual G5 or iMac in order to burn iDVD's.
