Does anyone know if this will work with OS X in a beige G3. I know OS X doesn't officially support this but would it not install, not run, or work perfectly without a glitch?

I have the Newertech MaxPowr 466mhz upgrade in my Beige G3 and runs fine in X, sort of snappy, better than my ibook/500 for sure (I do have a pci radeon though and 0.5GB ram). X installed fine, runs fine, etc, jsut how you would expect it to. You do need to enable the backside cache using some utilities from powerlogix or xlr8. If you're interested, I can sell you my upgrade since I just ordered a G4/550 card, if you were looking for an upgrade.

Thanks but I'm just researching this for my boss and don't think he wants to buy a new card for 16MHz. How much would you be selling it for perhaps I could find a use for it. Could you please give me the name of that software, or email me and tell me what I have to do. Also if you could email the software that would be nice but I'm not sure how big it is. Thanks alot

    I'm using L2cacheconfig ( <a href="http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=9077&db=mac"; target="_blank">http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=9077&db=mac</a>; ) to enable backside cache.

As for my G3/466, I have found a use for it so sorry, heh...

So all i do is install OS X and then download and run this L2cacheconfig? Will OS X recognize there is a upgrade card there or is there anythign else i need to do besides install 10 and L2cacheconfig? (i know i repeated myself but i'm making sure)

I don't think OS X knows there is an upgrade card in the machine, so all you do is install X, it will seem sluggish, then install L2cacheconfig and enable backside cache, and voila.
