help on burning .dmg of OSX 10.2

i purchased the 10.2 years ago and have made a .dmg of the disks as backup.

i got a new ext hd yesterday and want to install 10.2 on it, however,

the original 10.2 disk doesnt seem to work ( the drive keeping spinning and couldnt detect the disk)

so i used toast to copy the .dmg to cdr and hoped that i could install 10.2 on the new hd. i burn the cdr w/o a problem



when i click install and restart, the install menu wont appear ,

i tried booting from the cdr but in vain,



can anyone tell me what else can i do?

don't use toast, use DiskCopy to burn the image to a CD.
