Blueberry iMac ethernet problems
My iMac is having issues connecting to my ethernet switch.
Ive got an old Netgear, which has two 100mbit ports, and 8 10mbit ports. It also allows for individual switching of full/half duplex on each port.
I can connect the iMac to one of the 100mbit ports, and it works perfectly. But with only two, I really want my primary PC and my network uplink to be on those two ports.
The problem is that when I plug the iMac into one of the 10mbit ports it falls back to half-duplex, and packets get dropped all over the floor.
I used ifconfig to set en0 to 10mbit, full-duplex, but then it wont even get a link ( works on the 100mbit port ). If I let it autoselect it'll link, but half-duplex.
Setting the switch to half-duplex doesnt help the dropped packets problem.
So, has anyone experienced the issue of not getting a link when you force en0 to 10mbit, full duplex?
Currently running Jaguar, all updates.
