Adding Second Processor

I purchased the single processor 1.8 GHz G5 when it first came out. The dual processor machine had not been released, and my database (Helix Rade) suffered serious slow downs when operating in a dual processor environment. This problem has since been rectified, which leads me to this question. I purchased the 1.8 GHz machine because it shared the same motherboard as the 2.0 GHz machine. It appears that the motherboard is constructed to accept a second processor. However, I have never read anything about such an upgrade being available. Does anyone have any information on this? Source and costs? Thanks in advance for any input.

If the pins are there on your motherboard, it should work. But regarding where to get one - Good question.

It would be cost-prohibitive as a repair part from Apple or an Apple dealer (not to mention nearly impossible to get without an exchange of a dead module).

    eBay, maybe?
