Does anyone know if this is possible i know its a feature of the chip and i am also aware that the imac has a port for miroring? if so I could just jump into a 17inch imac the only thing I need is dual monitors!

I do not believe you can do this on the iMac, as none of the pictures on Apple's website show more than one video output port. Even if it is a feature of the normal GeForce 4 MX card, the iMac version is probably different, as "unnecessary" features are most likely removed to save space in the small base. However, this remains to be seen.
Already, you can output to VGA. There is a port on the back and all you need is a converter cable to mirror it to an Apple Cinema HD 24"er <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
they don't support separate desktops....just mirroring.....which to me is quite lame. it's too bad they don't mirror.... imagine a 17" imac paired up with another17" lcd.......ahhhh man.........
also i believe that the imac geforce4 is only 32 megs vs 64 in the regular geforce4mx

The GeForce 4 MX is in no way a GeForce 4. First of it performs just above a GeForce 2. Second the chipset is the nv17. To put this in perspective the GeForce 4 is the nv25 and the GeForce 3 is the nv20, and the GeForce 5 will be in the nv3x range. I think that the GeForce 2 is the nv15, not sure though.
