Upgrading from Panther to Jag

How do I do it. I have the DVD, I have made a backup of all my files. I have all my music on my iPod. What do I need to do?

When I inserted the DVD software from my Dad's new iMac, but when I tried to boot from it, it just resarted and then wouldn't do anything but turned itself off?

Help.

Jaguar came before Panther. There is no upgrading from Panther until Tiger comes out. Downgrading from Panther to Jaguar is inadvisable but not impossible.



Did you mean upgrading from Jaguar to Panther?



Clarify that and then we can give answers.

Post once, in the most logical place and wait. Cross posting wastes the time of the people that are trying to help you. Someone is doing you the favor of typing a long answer in Thread B but little do they know you already got your answer in Thread A. It's rude.
