Flower Power iMac boot problems.

Hello.

I have an old "flower power" iMac that I want to install OS X on.

However it won't boot anything. I can get into target disk mode or to the boot selector, but it refuses to boot anything that I try. I've tried booting from the internal drive, cd and an external firewiredrive. I can access the drive just fine when the iMac is in target disk mode, I've even installed OS X on it and booted from it via my PowerMac but the iMac still refuses to boot from anything at all. If i just let it boot on it's own it shows the flashing question mark.

I've reset the pram, the nvram and the pmu, has not helped.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Oh yes, as far as I can tell when booting into openfirmware, it's running 4.1.9

Thank you

Great. I've spent an entire day with this and NOW I come up with the idea to change the memory module. It's sort of running now, but the screen turns grey after it's been trying to boot for a while.

And now I can get past that as well. Just hold shift while rebooting.

Why is it that you can never find the solution BEFORE you start posting everywhere?
