Safari won't open sites on first try

When I attempt to go to a site, a message window will come up saying Safari can't open the site.

When I click Ok and then refresh, it goes to the site.

I have cleaned the cache, thrown away the plist and reset Safari.

Any ideas?

10.3.4. Everything is updated. I am also using Airport from my Powerbook.

My wife had this problem on her iBook for a while, but it cleared itself up after a while apparently.

    You're not alone.

I get that occasionally as well. I don't know if it has anything to do with the airport connection or not. (Since the Airport is the thing that actually accesses the internet ... is my computer not able to get the site from the airport, or is the airport not able to get the site from the internet ? ... it happens occasionally from both the iBook and the iMac ... so it's either a Panther/Safari bug or an airport bug)

Today it is working great. Turned my laptop off last night, (something I never do) and now seems to be fine again. What a strange thing.

Did download firefox during my trouble. Glad I have Safari back. :-)
