I know I'm going to be shot down for this but what the hell, aren't these places for rumors? Keyword people, RuMoRs.
Anyway, I think that we will see some kind of product from Apple in the near future with a hinge design similar to fingernail clippers.

Please post a mock-up or drawing of how you would expect this to work. I'm siting here staring at these clippers and can't figure out how the design would be applied to Apple computers.

Maybe he means that the new iMac will be like clippers in that it lifts up and turns on a 360 degree axis?

Interesting....
But, I would love to see a self balancing computer from Apple that uses the Ginger self-balancing apparatus. Wouldn't that be wild? rofl
What if the speed bumps are only modest? I'm hanging onto mine.
Well, I kind of like the clipper hinge idea...

My sister's iMac actually balances quite well... after all the days she's owned it it has not fallen over yet... even with the table it's sitting on being knocked into and everything... you think jobs stuck one in without us knowing?

The iMac is a squat computer witha good center of balance. It takes quite a blow to knock one over. More on this idea: You press the screen down, slide it off, it becomes a web pad, just like when you take the lever off the clippers. This just keeps getting better and better.

Interesting idea.. something like the Hiptop, except with a little tilt to the screen?
Might be an interesting idea for a flat panel iMac, but I wouldn't see how that would make it more useful.

Here's a sketch I whipped up quickly just for my own curiousity's sake.
My quick and dirty sketch
I could imagine the Pivot tube being made of Stainless with an Apple logo on the ends, the screen can be angle adjusted or flipped for the tablet experience. Since the Apple logo is on the hinge, I thought the the back of the screen might look sharp with the Apple name printed on it instead of the logo. Since the hinge design would require substantial real estate below the screen, that seems like a good place to stash a stylus...
Come to think of it, the whole unit could be metallic finish....
