Which is a good external enclosure. I have a 160GB WD drive and I am planning on using it with my pc and my mac. So I am looking for something that has both firewire and usb 2.0 and hopefully something that matches my powerbook.
I'm using a FIREVue FireWire 800 case, and no my Mac doesn't support FW800 just yet. Why did I pick it? Took up less space then there regular 3.5 HDD case, extremely quiet fan, FW800 (forward compatibility) and USB2/1 (backward compatibility), power button on the front. You would be amazed how few enclosures have power buttons on the front, some don't have any at all!
It also one of the few companies not effected by the Panther FireWire fiasco. Great company. This drive was the only one AFAIK to be effected and they swapped thing out in a mater of weeks, not months.
They also make some high-end FireWire cabling. If your interested.
To match your PowerBook there is a Macally enclosure. No fan, no power button but it more closely matches your book.
