3MBs cable modem here. We got the same thing in boston and in westlake.

    standard, residential cable modem.

downstream is GREAT but the upload leaves much to be desired, but I can't complain, always-on is a great thing.

I'm getting about 2Mbps on my cable connection, so I'm pretty happy with it. Up until May of this year however, I was on a slow dial-up connection. I couldn't believe how fast my cable was at first, after being on 56K for all those years!

I barely clear 512k download speed with my Earthlink DSL service (rebranded Verizon DSL service). More importantly, my upload speed blows chunks (it's less than 100k). But I guess I shouldn't complain. Others are forced to live with dial-up. \

Your download speed : 2431716 bps, or 2374 kbps.

    A 296.8 KB/sec transfer rate.

Your upload speed : 233672 bps, or 228 kbps.

We live out in the country where everything is slow. We went from dial up with a best connection at 24.8 k to over 2M. Life is good

We just doubled our shared line from 45 to 85mbps/1000 users. Effective speed usually between 20-50 mbps. It has never been saturated except when we make speed tests.

My downloads usually fly at 80-100k per second, which is fast enough for me...
