I don't like iTunes catagorizing all of my mp3's into different file folders by the name of the artist. How can I make iTunes put all of my mp3 files into one large list instead?

    There's a preference in iTunes called something to the effect of "Keep my iTunes folder organized."

    Uncheck that option and you should be fine.

    Preferences->Advanced

    Uncheck "Keep iTunes Music Folder organized"

    I actually really like that feature...but YMMV

    Actually I think once it does it your screwed, it won't reorganize it into just a mp3 list.

    Why don't you like this? This is one feature I adore about iTunes. It makes finding mp3s...and being able to have them labeled properly a breeze. This method you don't have to start the mp3 with the artist, and give up valuable room so that you can't see the actual song title.

    Guess you never liked to organize stuff with a tree model huh?

    ...man why does iTunes even use ID3 tags?! WinAmp is much better just throwing them all in a list that blends together

    Although I never tried it, this software was supposed to be very good at organizing large amounts of music files.
