update_prebinding gets a "buffer overflow"
The following concerns a G4/500 running 10.2.8, 160GB/640MB: When I try to use any utility (Yasu, Cocktail, etc.) to update_prebinding, it stops with an error. Just for kicks, I ran the update_prebinding command in Single User mode with the verbose flag turned on. The following appeared on my screen:
Start of update_prebinding
Start of search for binaries in packages...
Discover library dependencies (0/1 complete)
buffer overflow!
Abort trap
... and then the command prompt appears. I've run Disk First Aid, Norton and Disk Warrior; nothing makes this go away. Any ideas what might be causing this, and how to deal with it? Thanks...
