Time for a new monitor?!

I've been using a ViewSonic 17GA for about 5 years, and lately, its been cracking like once a week, like a powerful degauss like the Apple 17" Studio Displays use to do (the ones to match the B&W G3). Last night it shrank and like turned yellow and did like a wave, like a ripple went through it and it when back to normal then. And now its like magnifing icons a little when i move any thing around the screen like along the horizontal refresh lines. Any solutions, is anyone as scared as me that the monitor will expload? haha jk

    Hang onto it, in a few days it will be more entertaining than a lava lamp but you might wanna get a new one if you actually want to get any work done

    I'm not sure to be more worried about getting a new monitor or the G4 its hooked up to!
