I'm trying to get my 14" 900Mhz iBook to play on my tv. I bought a monster iTV cable to hook it up but it shows my desktop on the TV as black and white? Is there anything i can change to get it in colour? i've tried fiddling in Displays preferences.
well what we first have to do is isolate what is causing the problem.
Have you tried going to SystemPreferences-universal access and turn off black and white ? (when you have your display connected ).
What about trying to connect to a smaller TV. The TV you are using may be too big for the video card. You can try to zap the pram , and reset the open firmware .
To Zap the Pram
1. Start up unit,
2. Press and hold down ( Option, Apple, P , R ) keys , Until you hear two boot tones. then let them go and let the unit boot up.
To reset Open Firmware,
1. start up unit
2. Press and hold down ( Option, Apple, O , F ) keys down until you see text.
3. type :
reset-vram" <enter>
set-defaults <enter>
reset-all <enter>
4. then let unit reboot and try it .
If you are still having issues , you may want to take it try a different cable or take it in for service.
