Hi,

Is there a way to get at printer specific features for an inkjet shared from one Panther Mac to another? Specifically Epson, any model. The default prints at low resolution. I need to choose resolution (paper) and color settings. There doesn't seem to be a way to edit in "show info", and it is already defines as the correct model, but the print d-box lacks the additional specs.

Maybe the other mac's (where the printer is connected) "default" can be set to the desired settings?

Thanks.

Anytime I've shared a printer in Panther, the connected computers have full access to all printer settings. It appears as if the printer is connected locally. However, instead it actually finds it via Rendezvous.

change the settings when you actually print something, not in the printer setup utility. It will be in the third drop-down box on the print dialog box. It will let you save presets, etc.

Unfortunately, the shared printer does not show this menu (in Print), it comes up generic - no printer specific options.

Solution was to steal the preference file from the host computer, with the user saved configurations. Worked like a charm!
