Gen4 20G iPod won't mount?

I'm not alone as this is all over the Apple discussion boards, but has anyone come across rumor/news about why iPods are suddenly not showing up on the desktop, iTunes, or iPod updater? If I reset my pod while connected, it shows up on the desktop for a few seconds then disappears with the "you didn't disconnect that device correctly" warning dialog. Supposedly this is a firewire port issue of some sort?



B&W G3 350MHz (yea, I know.....)



Oh, my Gen1 5G pod still works fine.

    Did you download the latest iPod update software and iTunes?

    Thanks, got the latest. Seems to be a prob with the B&W G3s as it's fine on the G5 here at the office. I'll check with the Apple store tonight and see if they have any insight.

    Figured I wouldn't get much more than that. But they do have a problem!
