pismo battery not charging?

hey all. i've had a strange problem pop up. in february i moved and in the process the charger for my pismo went missing. anyway, it hasn't been charged since then because i have a couple other computers and i just didn't need to use it.



i bought a new power adapter last week and at first it didn't work at all. then yesterday, on a lark i tried to start up the computer before i was going to send the power adapter back. lo and behold the computer actually started up. but now the battery won't charge at all. it stays at 0% at all time. i already reset the pmu and reset pram and did the open firmare tricks for restoring a battery.



any ideas on how i could fix this? the battery was working reasonably well in february when it last ran. the battery isn't of huge importance on this computer. it will probably end up being an airport express hub to feed the downstairs stereo but it would be nice for it to be able to be moved without shutting down.

Even in sleep the computer sucks a little power. My guess is the battery was drained for months which is one of the worst things you can do to it. If you don't use your computer for a long time, it is recommended that you fully charge the battery and take it out of the computer.



I always charge my Pismo every night and the battery lasted 4 years (Pretty good for a computer battery). I just bought a new one in January and now get about 6 hours of battery life. But what you are describing does resemble my failing battery that I had replaced.



Oh, and the Pismo doesn't use airport express, just the regular airport.

so probably just a dead as dead can be battery.



the pismo can use airport express, but not airport extreme.

Oh carp, you're right. Hahaha! Apple marketing just has to make everything confusing and sound alike. (All the iStuff and such.)
