Does OSX have any built-in utilities for exporting and importing user account/environment settings?
If I just copy my existing user profile as a backup, is there a way to later import that folder as an active user account?
What works pretty fine to me:
-->
Just copy your entire ~/library folder onto another volume/drive/cd etc.
That's it
Done so, you can pick particular files you need, for instance, copy back your
adressbook only, or copy back your mail settings, you name it.
If you want a 1:1 copy of your user account with all the trimmings, than copy the whole content of your backuped library into the new created library. Log out and in, there you are.
