iTunes between Windows and Mac

I just bought a new Powerbook (my first mac!), and I can't figure out how to get my iTunes music ratings and play counts onto this new computer. I was using the Windows version before and now have my music my powerbook as well. I have tried exporting my music list and using it on my powerbook, but it didn't get any of the music ratings or playcounts. I'll probably have more questions later, hopefully someone will be able to answer this one. Thanks in advance.

How did you get the music from your Windows machine into your Mac? I just bought a new PowerBook and this is how I transferred my music from my old laptop: I copied the iTunes folder from my old Mac into my new one. That's it. All my ratings and play counts transferred over, although I did have to reauthorize.

    Hi Valorin,

I had the same problem when I first copied my music Library from my Dell to my PowerBook.

I ended up deleting everything in the "Music/iTunes" folder on the PowerBook. Then I started and closed iTunes on the Powerbook and deleted the new created files in the "Music/iTunes" Folder.

After that I copied the whole "iTunes Music" Folder, the "iTunes music library.itl" and the "iTunes music library.xml" of my Windows machine to the "Music/iTunes" Folder on the PowerBook.

I think my way was overkill, but it worked.
