Why do installers not open?

If I have an installer on a CD, like the Airport Express CD, when I 2x click the 'Install Airport and iTunes' it just opens it as a map and I only see the resource files and maps. It happens on me iMac but the installer application opens on the iBook. Any ideas as what can be wrong?

    Does it work if you command click, and then select open from the contexual menu?
