I am out helping my cousin to fix his brand new 200GB Seagate External. It will not mount, says the disk is unreadable and to either ignore, initialize, or eject. I have tried mounting apps, diskwarrior, and disk utility, none will even notice that the drive is connected. Any help would be appreciated, I dont want to have to deleted all the RAW video Footage left on the drive. Thanks for any help in advance

I get that when a drive is not formatted. Try formatting and to be safe, dun a disk scan utility.

you can always try disk warrior. Works great for issues like this. I think there is a demo version available. When I could not mount my external scsi raid this program did it for me.

How is the drive connected? (Firewire,USB, SCSI etc)

Did the disk work before on this machine?

Do jumpers need to be checked?
