Airport Extreme working with Original Airport

I'm heading to the Apple Store this weekend to get a new iBook and I want to make sure I clear up an Airport question before I spend the extra money on an Airport card.



At home, we have our 800 MHz G4 iMac act as the Base Station. It uses an original Airport Card.



The new iBook uses Airport Extreme. So I'm wondering if the new iBook using an Extreme Card will still be able to go online with the iMac (using original Airport card) acting as the Base Station.



I just want to make sure before I go get everything this weekend.

    AirPort and AirPort extreme talk to each other just fine. I've done this a ton wth my fiancé's iBook (AirPort) and my iBook G4 (AirPort Extreme) You may run into some speedbumbs sharing your internet connection though, but it won't be a hardware incompatibility issue. Hopefully you won't have any problems, but you might want to keep an eye on the thread that I just started. I have one strange problem posted, so all kinds of solutions are hopefully going to come up over there.
