iBooks' future

This is my first post! yeah :P

Well, I'm thinking of buying an iBook G4 14" but I'm afraid that the new tecnology G5 brings a new iBook G5 soon. Should I wait for it to appear ? or is it stupid for me to think like that and I should go get my iBook G4 with no worries?

    The iMac G5 will just be released this month. Then next up is the PowerBook G5, then... it's either the eMac or the iBook. So it's safe to buy an iBook G4 now.

    so...if I wanted to buy a PowerBook the best thing to do was to wait for the new powerBooks ?

    No. The G5 is still too hot and the first G5 Powerbook is NOT one you want to buy.



    In other words, it will take more than a year before you can buy a Powerbook G5 worth its price.

    The iBook G4 is an excellent little mover. Just add that 512 ram and it flies



    edit: And consider maxing out the HD as well. Its a nightmare to do later on. And also add the internal Bluetooth module. It can´t be done later on.

    I don't know about that. Looking at the track record of iBook releases it looks due for an upgrade, not that I expect it to be a G5 upgrade. I'm hoping for a graphics upgrade so it supports Tiger more fully.



    Of course this could all be wishful thinking on my part.
