Port Mapping and Airport Extreme....
okay i have my powerbook connected to the net via my airport extreme base station.
whenever i try and use a bit torrent client (azureus) i get really slow download speeds, and pretty fast upload speeds. the other problem is all my bandwith is taken up, so i can't access the internet (even though the download speed is snail's pace).
i have been told to use port forwarding in my base station but haven't got a clue how to do it (and can't find anything about how to do it online).
i have created nine new ports in the port mapping window of my airport software that look like this:
private IP public
6881 10.1.11 etc 6881 etc.
6882
6883
6884
6885
6886
6887
6888
6889
and this has made no difference what so ever. as i haven't got a clue what i am doing, i was wonder ing whether someone would be kind enough to write me an idiots guide on how to get it to work??
do i also need to add the ports to osx 10.3's firewall?
any help greatly appreciated
love
