Replacing iMac slot loading CD-Rom drive

I have been experiencing a lot of problems with my iMac's slot loading CD-Rom drive.

For a while now, my CD-Rom drive has been very tempermental. I can insert either an audio CD or Data CD and the drive will not read it, instead it will eject the CD right back out. After inserting it repeatedly for a few times it will finally read the CD and sometimes will eject the CD automatically after a few mins. It will do this while in the middle of playing an audio CD or reading Data from a CD. Other times, the drive will funtion without any problems, but more often than not - I encounter the situation with the CD ejecting.

I have tried "cleaning" drive by using a traditional CD lens cleaner and I have also tried blowing compressed air into the drive. Both methods work minimally if at all.

I have suspect for a while now that I have worn out my drive. I would like to know if anyone else has had this or a similar problem with a slot loading drive and what was done to solve the problem. Also, are replacement drives available on the market? If I could replace it, I would love to install a Superdrive...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks anyway - I found a site that carries the replacement drives and I ordered 6xDVD/24xCD to replace the drive that came with the computer.
