Is there a good backup software (freeware) that I can use instead of .MAC's backup?

There's a program I like called DejaVu. It's a control panel. Unfortunately, it's $15, but you can use it 30 times for free. Anyway, it's pretty good and it's as cheap as you'll find.

You could look at RsyncX:

I haven't used it but it seems an interesting approach.
And it is free.

I was a long time user of tri-backup. Then I found Super Duper. Very easy. Very fast. Very flexible.
